Internet Development Inc (IDI) is a web application hosting company based in Orem, Utah. In 2005, IDI contracted with Iodynamics for some on-site technical support and server repair.
After a few months of contract work, IDI turned over the maintenance and management of their large server farm to Iodynamics -- even high-tech companies can benefit from Iodynamics server management expertise. Outsourcing the server management portion of their business allowed IDI personnel to concentrate on running their operation and growing the business.
Iodynamics now manages approximately 30 high-security Linux servers for IDI, along with one Windows2000 server. About half of these servers are located at IDI's headquarters, while the rest are located at an Orem-based ISP hosting facility.
Iodynamics manages IDI's servers with a unique, overlapping system of manual and automated monitoring systems, Automatic updates are applied remotely when possible, which keep management fees down. Each server is also closely monitored around the clock -- Iodynamics tracks a multitude of hardware and software statistics, including connection operations, hard drive capacity, CPU load, system temperature, and even the speed of cooling fans. If any part of the server begins to misbehave, Iodynamics personnel respond remotely or on-site, depending on the problem. Often, server problems or outages are remedied before ID knows anything is amiss.
Along with comprehensive server management and monitoring, Iodynamics also offers IDI consulting on new software, needed hardware upgrades, and security measures. As new methods and software become available, Iodynamics advises IDI on how to stay on the cutting edge. Iodynamics also recently assisted the firm in linking their Utah network to a counterpart network in New York via a Cisco system.
Iodynamics provide server management services to very large server farms, but we offer the same services to clients with only one or two serves, too.
